About Ian

"Ian, for YOU  that's easy."

"I"m can't do that, it seems intimidating."

"I'm not that strong, there's no way I can do that."

etc etc..

I've been there.

Growing up, I was never fit or thin.  I wasn't a natural athlete and I was a pretty sedentary kid.  I know exactly what I feels like to not be happy with your body.

I started my love for martial arts when I began studying Eagle Claw Kung Fu as a teen at the Shaolin School.

Faan Tzi Ying Jow Pai (Eagle Claw)  is known for its powerful gripping techniques and for it's intricate system of locks, take-downs, and pressure point strikes.
Eagle Claw is one of the oldest, most complete, most complex and devastating of the surviving Northern Shaolin systems.

I became obsessed.  The foundation, tradition and boost in confidence it gave me allowed me to grow as an athlete and a person. I eventually worked my way up over many years to a Blackbelt and became a "Sihing"
(Assistant Instructor) at the Shaolin School.

I taught many students who were all ages and levels and eventually began instructing kickboxing classes which were held there.

My journey with health and overall fitness/nutrition began when I had a friend mentor me as a Health Coach. I got amazing weight loss results and wanted to help others feel the way I felt.  I then began helping others get results though fitness and nutrition.
I knew that I had to make it my mission when I had one of my clients tell me "Ian, you've changed my LIFE." , as she lost 60lbs.

Over time, traditional martial arts schools phased out with the rise of MMA.  With my martial arts experience and years of retail management experience, I worked as the lead trainer/general manager of a popular kickboxing gym, establishing its first location in California, became a regional manager, ranking the gym consistently among the top 5 of out over 1000 international locations.  Throughout my martial arts journey I have worked under various boxing, muay thai, and MMA striking coaches at the pro level throughout the years. I still do to this day refining my skillset with a constant hunger to learn more.

During the pandemic, there was a huge demand for private training, and and even larger need to help others with their mental health.
Boxing and kickboxing fitness has helped so many people in countless ways, and I want to continue to guide others to be their best selves.
I find it extremely rewarding to help others look and feel their absolute best, and it's my mission to do that on a daily basis.

I now continue specializing in private personal training with my own business giving each and every client the utmost attention to detail, custom workouts, and results based on their personal goals.
